hello world

I have such an international blog don't I,I can't say hello Sweden without ignoring my people in America and vise versa :)
Amway, if you don't wish to visit Ireland after all I have written so far here is another picture of yesterday around 4pm(16:00), waiting for bus outside of work building.

And yes, seeing other people with their dogs like this makes me really miss my Moe. But on the bright side, I overreacted a few days ago, and it will be really expensive and difficult on Corey but Moe will come here to Ireland to join us straight away :) So.. happy thoughts!

G'day

I'm sorry for the neglect, but on happier notes... I am now at a more permanent place here in Cork, and it is only 5 minutes walk from the biggest road in cork city centre. It is a quiet building, rather small and old, I dont know if I want to give it the "charming" title as I like to describe Cork mostly.. but you know, its a great place to live in until we find our next place, basicly I chose this place cause I could find it and I was out of time. I did NOT want to spend 35 euro per night at the bed and breakfast, id go broke!

So anyway, I got internet up and running, electricity (duuuh), my bank account, visa card, PPS number (think social security card or personnummer). My landlord even dropped me off a TV and radio, so im not bored to death!

Yesterday I went to drink some wine with a couple I met trough work, the guy is a Swede from Helsingborg and the girl is Finnish, was a lot of fun obviously! But today I am drinking a loooot of water.

Here is some pics I took on my journey today to find clean water.
Problem is.. I know I had a reason to take this picture but I cant remember what that reason was..

A really old bridge I guess, St patricks bridge, I cross it every day!

Yep... its old!

When water beomes luxury and great tasting. I didn't want to move the sausages prior to my picturetaking, what if someone wanted those and were coming back for them?

This felt really irish, so i took a picture of it.

Lot of freaking taxis everywhere, at least they are rather cheap here.

I wanted to show you an irish bus, or did I already show that..? Oh well, heres one more, different one too I think.

ok if you look closely, there is a chinese place in background on second floor of that building. It will make your "tounge"(tung) sing if you eat there... ahahahaha, such great humor i have.

Corey says I never read signs and if I did I wouldnt get so lost, but this sign doesnt seem to help at all, seriously.

My viewing of the world gets so blue sometimes, dunno why. This picture I remember I took because I liked how pretty it looks.. and typhically irish/british.

Misleading image "young ireland" "boys wear" and then there is an image of a dog.. im so confused!

Now im just thinking, ahh pretty shop.. wait a second.. "gold bullion?" (Guld buljong??) What?

"Did you have too much to drink last night?" is what im thinking now.

This is why...

You dont hear from me. I know, ok.. right now my life is not all that exciting, even for being in Ireland. I go to work early in the morning, get off from work, go look at a flat(apartment, house or whatever). Come home around 8pm after walking around lost in the beautiful Cork city centre, its hard to explain still why its beautiful... but ill try to explain.

Well ok this picture is way off topic... but... it keeps me awake at work! love it.. so amazing.. coffee... you.. aww <3

Ohh whats this? Is this from like the 1800's or something? No! its just another street in Cork.

Hah I knew they had cars back then!

No... cork, charming and rustic and so many cool people.. I swear.

Have you ever been to a place where you dont feel comfortable sitting down, you try to lean against a wall and you wonder if that is the correct thing to do? that is the correct oposite of Cork.. here its like "ah come on have a seat wherever you like, kick up your shoes on the table I dont care!" Its hard not to be charmed by that, totally.

As I was waiting for my bus this morning...

I noticed this tree, and whaddaya know! its bloomed, yay winter is over here in Ireland with a +10 degrees outside :)

onsdag 1 februari 2012

Ah what fun is that anyway :P But I started to work now so as you can see I had a slight decline in writing staticstics, so .. I can assure you im still alive anyway, my work and paperwork for work has taken over my time. You know when you just get hired how much stuff you have to learn, cause no same work operate the same way. Cool thing was that they have a deal with local bank office, so a person from the bank came here to help us set up an account, for me, that is awesome.

My pics are always exciting arent they? This is a few papers I got from work in one day to look over. No, seriously, it is not a book!

This is what an irish bus looks like, unfortunately the bus I take (210) to work, is not a doubledecker, but they are around, and they even have wifi on them!

I feel safe. Scania bus!! For those who dont know, Scania AB is a swedish automotive manufacturer :)
Cork city centre at around 5pm, as seen by the window of the bus. Pretty, yeees.

6 new pics below

Hi everyone, I hope everyones doing as well as I am. Even though I am cold now, I feel warmer outside than inside, but thats really no big deal. I rather enjoy the cold :)

So I spent my day exploring so far, walked down to cork city centre, enjoying the sights and I also bought a irish sim card for my phone, from tesco! I didnt find English market yet, o well, will have to try some other day :)

Please turn your head sideways for this picture! right outside the door of the bnb

The university, really big place!

And here is the sign.. cause its pretty, you also get to see the sky, your welcome

I liked the gate up there, so i took a picture of it, its hard to get the great atmosphere of the place in pictures, it cant be explained.. its like, charming as hell!

Some of the shops

Well ok, thats cork airport.. i was waiting there like 10 minutes yesterday and thought to myself "im sure everyone wants to see one of these"

Good rainy morning

Its been a long day

I know there is one thing everyone has been dying to ask, and yes, it did rain as I arrived here in Ireland. Happy now?? However, it wasnt as many green items displayed randomly as I had hoped.. oh well :)

But the irish kindness was well displayed right from the start!
I was met with the friendliest cab driver ever, he started talking and he didnt end until we said farwell. He couldnt find the bed and breakfast at first, called Mariaville house btw, as we drove around town we came to a stop by a rather big home called "Mariaville" in a nice big carved sign, so obviously, we had arrived? I payed the man his 15 euro for his 10 minute drive, then he helped me with my luggage, took me to the door and waited for the person to answer (not quietly). The person didnt show up unfortunately, it turned out it was the wrong Mariaville, how many could there be?? So, we kept on driving, for another 5 mins or so till we found it, he refused to take any further payment, and apologized!

Ah well, what waits for me tomorrow? The friendly cabbie told me that most shops open at around 13:00, my breakfast is at around 9am - 10 am, ill keep you guys posted!

I dont have time to write this

But it is getting very close to take-off time. 18:50 to be exact. It will put me in Cork at around midnight, there is a layover time in London, fun stuff! I know you envy me for my long day of flying, but after traveling from the US to Sweden with everything I owned (the last time I had a long flight), this feels like its going to be real real simple. Ohhhhh... so That's what all our horrible experiences are for, to make every other experience seem nice and cool!

How about a sneak preview?

Of Cork that is.

Since I didn't have the financial possibility of visiting Ireland ahead of me moving there I have been watching countless of you-tube videos to get a feel for the place, its not working! It doesn't matter though, in 2 days I will arrive in Cork myself, I will be staying at a Bed and breakfast called Marie Ville house.

onsdag 25 januari 2012

Hi everyone, three days till Ireland

So today its the 25th of January, my plane ticket is booked for the 28th of January, crazy to think that I will soon be leaving alone! To a country where I know no one, its scary but I am also excited. I will start working for ATOS which I wont write much about, mostly because I am sure my future employer wont be excited about me writing about them, they usually don't. :) But either way, I am really excited, even though it doesn't feel very real.

I write in English because my husband and others may not know Swedish, but all the Swedes I know including my family are excellent at reading/speaking english, even if some of them are too modest to admit it.

So I havnt packed yet, but what last minute person would pack three days in advance?? Thats what I thought! I do have my passport though, and a shiny new bankcard, totally prepared. :)

I hope you will follow my journey, if not, this will be my very private diary in english! win/win
